En esta fase, titulada Pop’64, los hallazgos del artista en Analogues se transforman en entidades autónomas que guían la evolución de la suite. La etapa articula dos ejes principales: por un lado, los pequeños dibujos a mano adquieren mayor protagonismo al variar trazos y tratamientos —como en una tipografía que despliega light, regular, medium y bold—; por otro, el paso de lo analógico a lo digital deja los primeros collages demasiado vacíos, demasiado blancos para el nuevo soporte.
In this phase, titled Pop’64, the artist’s findings in Analogues become autonomous entities that steer the suite’s development. The stage articulates two main axes: on one hand, the small, hand-drawn sketches gain prominence as strokes and treatments vary — like a typeface unfolding light, regular, medium and bold; on the other, the shift from analog to digital renders the initial collages too sparse, too white for the new medium.

Para resolver el vacío del fondo, el artista construye ambientes mediante capas superpuestas —tramas, transparencias, texturas y jerarquías cromáticas— que generan un halo misterioso e invitan a la emoción y la exploración, marcando la dirección de la serie. Se plantea, así, cómo ocupar el espacio sin caer en la simple ilustración de fondos, sino concibiendo tramas y áreas que acompañen a la figura y configuren un espacio propio.
To resolve the void of the background, the artist constructs environments through overlapping layers —weaves, transparencies, textures, and chromatic hierarchies— that produce a mysterious halo and invite emotion and exploration, marking the direction of the series. The question thus posed is how to occupy space without resorting to mere illustration of backgrounds, instead conceiving patterns and areas that accompany the figure and configure a space of their own.

Finalmente, edec: amplía su repertorio con vectores y la serie Pop’64, evocando las corrientes gráficas europeas de finales de los cincuenta y principios de los sesenta, cuando la imprenta alcanzó su máxima expresión. Al avanzar y perder el miedo a la trama, recuerda el lenguaje gráfico que mencionaba en los 50-60 en el que se usaba el duotono. Al finalizar su siguiente etapa, Pop’66, el artista regresa a la serie actual para actualizar, renovar aspectos que mejoran el carácter general de esta línea de creación.
Finally, edec expands its range with vectors and the Pop’64 series, evoking the European graphic styles of the late 1950s and early 1960s, when printmaking reached its peak. As it progresses and loses the fear of texture, it recalls the graphic language used in the ’50s and ’60s, when duotone was common. At the end of the next phase, Pop’66, the artist returns to the current series to update and renew elements that improve the overall character of this line of work.
