Giacomo Santiago Rogado

In his efforts to transcend the boundaries of representation, Rogado has been creating impressive compositions for a good twenty years that explore color and form. He develops process-oriented series of interconnected but completely autonomous works that create a dialogue between repetition and variation. In doing so, the artist inquires deeply into the possibilities, limits, and conditions of contemporary painting using new means, techniques, and materials. Increasingly, Rogado’s works have been moving into the field of installation and intervention, giving rise to expansive and immersive pictorial spaces. He uses the fundamental themes of perception, concentration, and connection to invite the viewer to slow down and engage with painting’s intimacy.
